Membership

1. Complete and pass courses and examinations from our association or recognized educational institutions, approved internal audit or related professional accounting associations, with three years of internal and external audit work experience

2. Hold practicing certificates from recognized professional accounting associations and internationally recognized CPA practicing certificates, with five years of internal or external audit work experience

3. Hold Hong Kong recognized CPA qualifications without practicing certificate, but with ten years of experience in internal audit, external audit, and related corporate governance, financial management, financial services governance

4. Ten years of experience in internal audit, external audit, financial services, securities, banking, company secretary, legal and related consulting industries; pass internal audit enhancement courses from our association or recognized institutions

5. Complete three HKU Space course modules with minimum 70% attendance and passing grades to obtain ACIA-CCIA qualification

 

 

Ordinary Member (MACIA) Requirements:

1. Hold recognized accounting qualifications and three years of internal audit or internal control experience

(Recognized institutions include HKICPA and these overseas organizations):

• ACCA
• ICAEW
• ICAS
• CA ANZ
• ICAZ
• NZICA
• CAI
• CPA Australia
• CPA Canada
• SAICA

OR 2) Hold Affiliate membership with three years of internal audit or internal control experience

 

 

Affiliate Member (AACIA) Requirements:

1. Hold relevant diploma or higher from recognized university/college
2. Interest in internal auditing
   Upgrade path: Can apply for Ordinary membership after three years of internal audit/control experience

 

 

Student Member Requirements:

1. Currently enrolled in relevant diploma or higher program at recognized university/college
2. Interest in internal auditing
   Upgrade path: Can apply for Affiliate membership upon completing relevant diploma
